Take the Challenge is a new resource for schools, adapted from The Canning Stock Route Challenge, previously developed by the Pilbara Public Health Unit in 1995.

Take the Challenge

Classes 'virtually travel' through a selected route, throughout Western Australia, by participating in a physical activity and healthy lifestyle lesson relating to key messages.

Classes can Take the Challenge as part of a fun competition coordinated by regional population Health Units or can be used by teachers as a general resource at any time.

Take the Challenge aims to promote healthy lifestyle behaviours in students in each developmental stage. The resource endorses a health promotions schools approach and provides teachers with a number of modules which are linked to the health and physical education learning area and a range of other learning areas. Take the Challenge is funded by Healthway, the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Wheatbelt and Goldfields Population Health Units, supported by WACHS, Education and Diabetes WA.
