This geographically expansive project includes taking the School Breakfast, Food Sensations® and Choose to Move Programs to regional and remote Western Australian communities.
The Regional Strategy Project
The project includes the following focus areas:

Expanding the School Breakfast Program to new schools across the state, and enabling greater support and communication networks to and between existing schools;

Facilitating the Food Sensations® nutrition and hands-on cooking program within school and community settings and delivering Educator Training opportunities in regional and remote areas;

Supporting the implementation of the Choose to Move physical activity program to regional and remote schools.
The goals of the Regional Strategy are to:

Improve the health and well-being of regional school children vulnerable to poor diet by increasing the availability of healthy food.

Improve the food choice and food preparation skills of disadvantaged groups, via the provision of nutrition education and practical food skills.

Improve the physical activity opportunities for school children through the provision of equipment and teacher support.
Target Groups:
Primary target group: Primary and Secondary students
Secondary target group: High priority populations including school staff, parents and the wider community.
